The Rotterdam by Rem Koolhaas

TGM Project Management

Bomecon has developed a monorail commissioned by TGM to place aluminum facade elements for the project, the Rotterdam in Rotterdam.

Specifically for this project at an altitude of 150mtr. Was chosen for a double winch carried out on battery, wherein the element could be hung "right"  in horizontal direction. The advantage of this winch with two suspension points was that with higher wind speeds, the elements could still be hanged. Because of this method approximately20 elements by day could still be hung on this height with only 2 to 3 technicians.

Due to the shape of the building and the various walls which were on the floors, the winch was equipped with a battery, so that it could function independently of the constructionelectricity. The rail was constructed so that the winches on the monorail could be used around the entire building.

In the Low-Rise (t / m floor 24), The I-Boom provided by Bomecon was also used. With this, the elementcrates were placed on the floors(N-Z-O)

The High-Rise (t / m floor 44), here a specially designed expansionplatform of Bomecon was applied. Element Crates were then placed on the platform and transported inside with an electric pallet.

Eventually this led to a efficient assembly process.
