Rail system for the Rotterdam designed by architect Rem Koolhaas

TGM

The Rotterdam is the latest eye-catcher of the proud Dutch namesake port city. Completed in November 2013 the building functions as a complete town in the city: three transparent towers, 150 meters high on a pedestal of restaurants, the Nhow hotel and beautiful entrances. The Rotterdam was designed by Rem Koolhaas (OMA) on the Wilhelmina Pier, the new Manhattan on the Maas.

Our share in the realization of the Rotterdam was the development and installation of a monorail system with which the facade elements could be placed.

This monorail system has contributed that there, instead of the scheduled 6 persons for the placing of the elements, now two persons were needed in order to guide this. So they could increase efficiency and reduce costs. The working process was accelerated and the safety ensured.
