For the removal of the asbestos-containing facade elements they used the cocoon method.

The façade element is cleared of obstacles on the inside and with film shielded from the rest of the house. Thereafter, the I-Boom 3000 with a radio-controlled frame with vacuum cups was placed on the glazing which takes away the element as a whole and at the same time. "It is the first time that Van Dillen replaces facade elements in this way.

This frame on the I-Boom 3000 is a part of a system that Bomecon developed and with Van Dillen was made suitable for the renovation. It is a kind of balance pendant hanging with a triple jump from a crane. All supplies like the vacuum machine and the control are built on the I-Boom 3000. There is also an actuator which moves in the vacuum frame. Bomecon made for this project two copies of the vacuum system.
